Warrior Michael:Starting out 2020 with this tough warrior Michael. He is fighting Stage 4 relapsed neuroblastoma after 4 years of being in remission.
I met Michael's mom on a Momcology retreat weekend back in August! I was just starting out my cancer journey and got to meet this amazing group of mom's who were thrown into the cancer world just like me. We all shared our stories about our little fighters and all of the challenges that they have gone through. Michael is a true definition of a warrior and a fighter! His treatments now have taken him to Sloan Kettering in New York City every month for about 10 days. In that time away, he is away from his twin sisters and one of his parents. When he returns, he is greeted with squeals, smiles, and big running hugs from his little sisters. Its hard for a 6 year old to be away from their family for so long, but Michael does it all with smile on his face! From his mom Kelly: "He is the most positive, happy and outgoing cancer kid I've ever seen! Doctors and nurses continue to comment on Michael's happy nature and positive spirit despite the awful treatment he has endured. He loves to cheer up other kids and make people smile and laugh through the hospital and Ronald McDonald house."
